Inner Scuff Plate removal and re-install

Ok folks, please bear with me (I've used the search button and checked the DiY section too!!)....I'm looking for some advice on the removal of the inner scuff plate.....

...it's circled in green in the attached pic (basically, it's NOT the one with the rx8 logo that keeps unsticking. This plate is the one further inside, nearer to the seats).

I've looked through the service manual, and they said that it has to be lifted up, and each of the "A-type" (7 or so of them) clips detached.

BUt how in the heck do you detach them safely if they're all under the plate?

Do I just pry underneath, and lift it up from there?

I certainly don't wanna break it!

Looking for any advice on anyone else who may have had to remove it (for whatever cause) at some point.

Thanks!

Yup. Just start at one end and pop the clips straight up. Then work your way down panel.

^^Much obliged sir...thanks for the help!

One more question though, I'm looking at the rubber "seal" here (which runs around the door area to seal off the cabin) - can the inner scuff be moved independently of the seal?

Thanks again folks!!

I'll have to look at my car to see. No where near my 8 now.

Regardless, that just pulls right off too. Easy to remove and reinstall if needed. Same on every car.
