they wire into the ash tray light bulb, they are led. you would need to install a resistor inline. its not hard but like I said weeks ago. They are bright, and run warm.

Yep, what DocBeech said. I've noticed the shifter gets rather warm when my lights are on now. I find it a little strange since most LED's don't produce much heat.

I bought one of these a while ago...I forgot who posted the link originally. However, I just installed it this past weekend.

I love it. It goes well with the red RR-footwell lighting.

Its not so much that it is producing a lot of heat vs the fact that it is all contained heat that is sealed by the shifter. The dissapated energy has to go somewhere, and it is just going into the knobby ****

Just to be clear, that's part #FF37-V8-170-04. Dave did tell me a few times during our phone conversations that Mazda UK part ordering was a bit of a mess. I'm just crossing my fingers and waiting to see what shows up on my doorstep, hopefully next week sometime.

THIS IS FOR SERIES II **** FF37-V8-170-04

The part is no longer on the website. So I emailed them and was told no longer available.......

Anybody else have any suggestions where to look?

You have a S1. They should still be available. It's on their website.

This is a great price. Can't wait to get it.
