Idea that didn't work... your thoughts?

Call me cheap, but i just don't want to pay $500+ just to get the ability to watch videos on my nav screen.

My idea was to use the component cable that came with my Wii to tie into the LCD screen's RGB inputs. I toyed around for a few hours between trying things in the car and reading online. I've given up on the idea....

If the factory LCD screen takes a RGBS input like i've read... doesn't there have to be some other option for converting component cables or regular video cables to that format? Are the people at Avelectronics the only ones smart enough to have figured it out and overpriced their knowledge?

Any input would be great but please don't link me to any thread concerning the Avelectronics unit... i've read them all.

why dont you spend 700 dollars on a car computer with screen, nav, videos, music, everything?

im saying this because i have a carputer setup for sale for 650 with screen and dash piece. Basically 95% what you need to do it.

Why not just use a set of composite cables?
