i think i found avelectronics alternative

here is one link..

http://www.midwestelectronics.com/pr...products_id/97

does anyone know if this will work? i was cruising the acura forums and it seems they have rgb displays with a sync, which from what i have gathered is much like the mazda's. can anyone confirm this working? if it does an under 300 dollar price tag is somewhat better than 530 from avelectronics

Nope...these are splitters so you can hook up multiple AV sources (DVD, PS2, etc) to multiple monitors. The pioneer only works with the Pioneer head units.

i talked to a guy from a nissan board... he had used the pioneer box on his z... he tapped the rgb and sync signal... then hooked it into a vga which then went tothe box... then vga out from the box to this osd/ir box.. its a rather simple built at home box he made.. not sure what it does then went from vga out of there to rgb to the screen... i could be really incorrect but this seems like it might work.. maybe?
