Hi,

Does anyone know if there is a Hvac/air conditioning control adapter for the 2004-2007 rx8's by its self(without a faceplate)?

I have made a custom faceplate for my carpc install and do not feel like spending the extra money for the metra kit if it is possible to buy this adapter by its self.

I looked into using a stripped down stock head unit and mounting it behind the faceplate to run the hvac controls but was unable to do this due to room constraints with my lilliput screen curcuit board. Since i am trying to keep this install clean and keep a stock like look i did not want to mount the stock headunit in the trunk or glove box which limits my options to just behind the hu faceplate.

Try contacting Metra and Corksport. Those are the only two makers that sell the HVAC module for the double dins.

 

And there is no way in hell they're going to just sell you the HVAC module by itself.
