I purchased my RX-8 about a month ago, and I've noticed that if I set the climate control blower so that the air is exit at both head and foot simultaneously, then about 99% of the air is blowing on my feet, and there is a barely perceptible trickle of air exiting the top vents. In fact it's such a small amount that you have to hold your hand on the vent to feel it.
