I got my rx8 not to long ago and I am guessing that the previous owner had a gps mounted on the passenger part of the dash. On the dash there is a type of hard glue im not exactly sure what it is but it looks like silicon. I tried this stuff from home depot to pretty much wipe out anything including silicon and it only kinda worked. I was pretty scared considering I was using adhesive remover while scratching it with a razor blade. It did seem to work a little so im not sure if that is truly silicon or what. I thought maybe I can take it to a custom shop and they told me that it was beneath the panel and all this crap when I know I at least got a little bit off. So basically im not trusting that guy. So I need Ideas!

 

silicone shouldnt really bond that well with plastic, if it is silicone you should just be able to rub it off with a dry finger and it should peel away...
