Two reasons why there wont be a DIY any time soon. First, the size of the LED's involved are tiny. Here's a pic of a bunch of the ones removed to do the convesion, with one laying on top of a nickle, just to give an idea of size. Second, I am considering offering this as a service, so I dont want to shoot myself in the foot. If i go ahead with this, I will let everyone know.

i did blue behind the needles, but with the red stripe on the needles themselves, its not super bright. i keep my lights on all the time, and dont use the red illumination, but visibility during the day time is fine with the blue

just for those that are interested in doing this, it is not a DIY to be taken lightly. it is a very lenghty job, requires attention to detail, a very steady hand, mad soldering skills and you should also have a specialized soldering iron to remove the original LEDs. one mistake and you can damage or ruin your guage cluster.

I love the look, but would hate to drive it at night. I hate blue/green/white gauges when I'm out on the dark roads. I have to have my red and have it down low.
still though...I love to look at it in your car! Knowing what you went through for that solder job is almost as impressive as the look of the cluster.
