Help please: Radar Detector in my Head Unit

Well I just bought the Bel RX75 Pro Plus, and I'm beginning to plan my remote radar installation. I saw some threads here where they've installed a remote display in the head unit's blank plate where the optional Mini Disc player goes. This was my plan as well, as it's about the only clean space on the dash that there is.

Before I go drilling into the only face plate I have, I'm wondering, does anyone out there know where I can buy spare blank face plates? I shure would like to have a couple of chances to screw up. You know?

www.mazdaparts.com ask the owner Thew he is a member/vendor here
he is the one who put his remote display for his V1 radar detector there, he will sell you a pre cut piece but since yours is not the V1 just give him the dimensions

i think that piece you will be cutting into cost like 50 or 55 bucks from the dealer. i need to replace mine in that spot because i have a huge scratch. but check the dealer's parts department and then see if someone here can get you a better price, which is very likely
