Help please: QuBit HiFi Mute

Just got my QuBit HiFi Mute set for Bose from ProClips today. The instructions leave much to be desired, and there is absolutely nothing on the Bose specific harness.

I think I have most everything worked out, but I'm wondering about a couple of dangling yellow leads, associated with the mute function.

All in all there are three mute wires. Two are on the hands-free connector that goes to the phone kit, labeled "Mute out" and "Mute in". The third comes directly out of the Bose head unit harness. I used another thread here that has the head unit connector pin-outs to determine that it was connected to the "mute" pin on the that connector.

My question is: What do I do with the two extra mute leads, the one described as "Mute out" on the H-F connector, and the lead spliced directly to the mute pin on the head-unit harness. Has anyone out there installed this unit? I searched the threads but found nothing specific to actual installation.

Here's a picture for all who's interested.

Yeah, I read through that thread. The picture shows an older version of the HiFi Mute but the connections appear the same. And, the same two extra mute leads can be seen in that photo, too. But no mention as to whether they are even used or not. Maybe I should just ignore them? I dunno...

My mute module looks exactly like the one you have. You should find that if you ground the cable you are calling "the lead from the head unit" that the radio will mute and show "mute" on the display. I tried to get this line to ground when the QuBit activated but it didn't work and I didn't spend any time to troubleshoot the issue.

I ended up just leaving that line and the other one unconnected. The radio mutes, but the display doesn't show "mute". I didn't find that to be enough of an issue to worry about.
