Help Please - Problems with the MP3 Player

Thanks to the posts on this board I was able to install my MP3 player today without much fuss other than spending a few minutes getting to those 2 plugs for the temperature control system.

But here is my problem it plays CD's no problem, but not MP3's.
I burned 2 disks; one using itunes on a Mac, one using Roxio Toast on my Mac. Both are MP3 formats. I keep on getting a " Check Disk" error from the player.

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

An MP3 disk is simply a "DATA" disk with MP3's on them. You can add directories if you want to. I have a PC so I don't know much about MAC burning software but simply make a regular DATA disk. To be safe make sure you are closing the session, so the disk can't be added to: this is usually called "disk at once" (this isn't entirely necessary but maybe it will help you).

In toast- (I'm using 5.2.1 in OSX ) make sure you are buring a mac os extended and PC hybrid disc.

I have made many mp3 disks on my mac and have had not problems in my other car mp3 player. I am having the Mp3 player installed in my 8 this week becuase they gave me a decent price on the paer -$280- it will still cost me $100 for the install. The fact you say it was so easy makes me feel dumb for not soing it myself- I was just afraid of scratching the dash, etc. ans figured since the dealer was putting it in it is covered under warrenty (it's listed on my car invoice) I Did my last mp3 player and ther were some problems with skips over bumps, so I figured let a pro do it this time.

Thanks for the responses. I'll give both a try.

Finally got it figured out. It seems that on the Mac, audio files are now saved in a AAC format which is compatible with IPODS and other Apple related players. It is apparently a better quality compression format. But most MP3 players don't recognize it. What i needed to do was convert from AAC to MP3 and then everything started working. Sorry for all the rants and thanks for the support.
