Help finding in dash 6 disc

Hi, I live in New Zealand and just purchased a used imported RX8 type S from Japan Only done 5000km. I really love this car but thats for another thread. Anyway the cd player is an extra in japan and this car has no cd at all not even the single disc, just radio. It does have all the controller buttons such as load and eject just the same as the US or Europe models

I have done a bit of reaearch and correct me if i am wrong: When you remove the stereo the piece of black shiny plastic between the volume control and the FM 1/2 AM CD Tape/MD buttons is removed a new 6disc piece is put in its place with the 6 disc unit behind it.

Does the 6 disc simply plug in to the existing unit?
Also any recomendations where i can get this unit from at a good price as the dealer network here seems quite expensive?

I just removed one from a customers vehicle and he will not be able to reuse it or the buttons for that matter. Let me see if he wants to sell it.

Yeah that would be cool if you could ask him. Is it the whole stereo or just the six disc unit?
I didn't think about that Minty Fresh I guess its the 180kmh limiter that all jap import cars have. There must be a way some how but i have no idea. Havent had my car long only 5 day and some ##@**# smashed my window while i was at the hairdresser on the second day i had it, i guess they were lookin for valuables, but there was nothing in the car.

It is just the 6 disc only, the factory radio portion must remain in the vehicle and in the circuit for the climate control system to work properly.

What about replacing a single with the changer? Is it as simple as just an easy swap, and everything works automatically? No ECU configuring or anything?

as far as i understand its like a component system where you can get what options you like such as 6 disc, mini disc, or mp3 cd just pull one out and put another one in. sometimes you can have two eg cd and md. it shouldnt effect the ecu
