I have a cloth interior 190 in the UK, and it has manual height adjustment on the driver's side but not on the passenger side. I see from the seat base that the passenger seat base is bolted down with four bolts and could theoretically have spacers installed to raise it relative to the back - as the height adjustment does on the driver's seat - so I am wondering if the height adjustment mechanism would require a whole new seat, or could be bolted on (with appropriate trims).

Shipping would be a killer for a whole seat, but I would be interested, especially if it is the case that only the base would need to be changed, in a LHD car's cloth interior driver's seat base to get the height adjustment on both sides of my car. Anyone skilled in seats/retrimming should know the mechanisms, so I'd appreciate any information which will let me know how feasible this is.
