Exclamation Having trouble with Ipod Hack

Hey guys, Well I have been installing radios and what not for years now and I ran into a problem. Now I feel like this is an obvious answer but im lost.

I am at this step right here
http://www.whatsmyip.org/ipodrx8/14.php

I am trying to Solder the audio cable to the left and right terminals but I dont know what goes where.

I am using a 6ft dual ended aux cable. So there is a 3.5 mm jack on both sides, I'm not using an RCA cable. So I chopped one end off and stripped it down. So right now I'm left with 3 wires.

White, red, and blue. Now I'm assuming that white is negative, red is positive, and blue is the ground. So the main question is what goes where? Reading his tutorial he just says to "solder them up" but what to where!??

IF I go with his route and get an rca cable with the left and right audio outputs, How would I go about soldering those wires up? He says to join the negatives togather which makes sense then would leave the right positive and left positive alone. So where do the negatives and positives go?

Please help, I would like to finish this project tonight. Thanks!!
Matt

Ok, update, The aux cable has a red wire, white wire, blue wire, and the steel surrounding which is the ground. The red and white are the left and right channels. What the hell is the blue wire??!?!?!

Since you have another 3.5mm jack, why not cut the insulation around the jack and see where the wires are soldered to.
Pretty sure the tip is left ch, ring below is right ch, and lastly ground (at least that's what a few Google searches resulted).

Trying to pull apart a jack isn't really as simple as it sounds. the wires to actually connect to the jack housings directly. they connect to wierd paths and it really hard to follow lol.

I tested the wires on my headphones and they work fine with out the blue wire, So I'm just going to chop the blue off and solder the other three on.

Well I got it all soldered up. And to say the least I am very impressed with my work! These are extremely small terminals and wires so I am happy with the way they came out. I'm sure people could make it look much nicer, but Im satisfied. Then to keep all the wires mounted, I just put a thin line of superglue holding them down. The second picture is with a penny, just so you get an idea of how small this really is!!

I wasn't going to bother posting any of this up, But I figured I would just incase somebody else was bored and wanted to futs around with their car. The more that comes up in the search the better!
