Has anyone taken apart the rear cupholder and lid?

My rear cupholder's lid's spring may have become loose or dismounted. I want to take the thing apart and fix it. How do I take the damn thing apart?

If you can list a few brief steps, that would be great. The rear cup holder lid is starting to annoy me. I happen to be very **** when it comes to cars

take center console out.

look at rear cup holder. try to reinstall spring that fell out.

get over it. put console back in, close lid.

done. life goes on.

or buy new center console, pay some one to replace it.

or sell car, get a smart car. i dont think they have a rear cupholder to get worked up about. but really the first answer is correct.

beers

the center console is attached by 2 screws under carpets inside the cubbyholes and 2 more in the back, sort of between the rear seat backrests. once u got those out, the whole thing pops up with moderate force (dont break the silver plastic trim, its retardedly fragile)

ok. unclip the panel that is above the shifter. once thats removed infront of the cupholders there is one screw.

slide center back and flip up where the other cig lighter is. remove cig lighter by pulling that out and disconnect. remove 2 screws in that cubby. the cubby behind that has 2 more screws in it.

finally remove that trash thingy between the seats (the one with the lock thing) and that will show 2 more screws.

once thats all done start grabbing sligtly from the front cupholders and lift up carefully. you will see where the silver sideing starts to unclip. once thats done work your way back lifting on both sides. <<<<careful silver scratches easily>>>>>>>

fix problem and goodluck
