Is this happening to anyone else?

Hi, I'm new here..just got my 8 a few weeks ago. Its an 04 with the red/black leather interior...the driver's side seat is changing color in the midsection of the back (fading? or wearing?) to black color..it looks dirty but doesn't clean off. Is this happening to anyone else?

Also, I'm only 5', 3" so I have my seat raised as high as it goes so I can see better and I have it moved up close so I can reach the pedals and I noticed the driver's seat is rubbing on the middle console gray plastic piece and its all scratched. I only just noticed it after I pushed the seat all the way back to vacuum it. Is this happening to anyone else?

Help.
Gail

Congrats on your 8. I believe the wearing/fading is just that it needs leather conditioner. I have the same problem with the scratching on the silver console piece. Really can't avoid it. Unless your tall I suppose :D

Hey thanks! So you think if I put some leather conditioner on it, the black would go away? (I hope)...I was thinking of having the whole car detailed and see what they come up with.

For the scratching you might try getting some black sticky felt and putting on the plastic part of the seat causing the scratches.

Mine......

My seat is exactly like yours, I think you probably wear a black belt too? :D That is what causes my coloring, comes off with a little leather cleaner/conditioner.

Yeah, that's a great idea Asmoran! Thanks! And StealthTL, I don't wear belts, it must have been the guy who owned it before me...I didn't even realize it when I bought it because I was so excited to find a red one and had been looking for a little while...only just noticed it recently. I hope it comes out...I'll try tomorrow.

Ya I would recommend leather conditioner, but I dont have leather in my 8 (its too hot where I live and I would hate it). If that doesnt work, go with ur getting it detailed plan.

And im tall (5'7ish) and I have the scratches on the silver piece too...im just gonna deal with it until I can get the carbon fiber kit for it But like someone else said, put some felt like stuff there and it might prevent it from getting scratched

Oh nuts! I just tried leather cleaner and conditioner and it didn't come out....I hope it does if I have it detailed....and those guys better know not to flood my engine! yikes! has anyone had that happen to them...? bringing your car in for repairs, maintenance, detailing, etc. and they flood it by accident? I hope not....
