Thumbs up Guage Pod for RX-8

Check out these guage pods for our RX-8. They have 2 versions. One require cut the dash cover and the other is direct bolt on. I personally like the cut dash one. They will work with any 52mm guages. These are for left hand drive only. Here are some pics.

Yes, they're available.
I've ordered the version 1 (first 2 pics, must cut dash). It should arrive soon and I'll post pics once I install it. I'll do a DIY also for those wondering how to put it in.

Due to forum rules, I can't disclose the price here.
PM fd3s777 for info.

It's from http://www.evo-r.net/ they're located overseas.

I got my pod in today and started to install it. It looks to be made out of fiberglass and is very strong. Again this is the version 1 pod and you have to cut the dash.

I was hoping to install it parrallel to the dash but due to it's shape it can only go in slanted. See picture.

I will probably receive my 52mm gauges with 3-4 weeks and I'll update then.

These look pretty sharp...
It'll be nice to see pix of installed product..
The model looks kind of shinny and smooth textured compared to our dash.

I highly doubt it. Here's their preproduction piece and it was made for left hand drive vehicles. The contour would be different plus the left end is shorter than the right end.

Contact fd3s777 by PM and he'll give you ordering info. I think it's still new and about to be listed.
I can't discuss the price it cost, but it was much, much cheaper than the PTP one or the Mazdaspeed gauge kit one.

Thanks we here in Australia always seem to get snookered , little is available to right hand drive and when it is the exchange rate and impot duty gives it to us up the rear

Reiv racing beat intake even if you bring it in whitout paying duty approximately $550.00 compared to your $320.00

cheers

Just got my gauge pod from fd3s77. Easy transaction with no trouble. i got version two,the bolt on. (the second set of pictures). Came just as promised and as Adrian said up above in the thread, seems to be a quality piece, very sturdy. I however have the Defi Bf gauges (60 mm) and will have to modified the holes slightly to get my gauges fit, but it can be done easily with a dremel or like tool. There is enough lip around the holes that once that is finished, you will never be able to tell that the holes were modified. I may start work on mine today and when finished will post a DIY and if anyone needs any help with verision 2, just post or pm me as there were no instructions. Off to the garage!

Yeah, go ahead and buy it while they still have some! I got to work on mine some today and with a little grinding with the dremel it is no problem at all. Once th gauge (DEFI BF for me) is placed in the hole, the gauge bezel covers any imperfections from the mod. Looks really nice. I am working on installing mine, so far have modified the holes to fit 60 mm, and drilled the pilot holes for the screws (i have v 2). i am going to post a DIY when I am all finished, hopefully just a day or so more. Also wanted to pass along, the screws that hold this in place can be covered with a 50 cent screw cover (black) that can be purchased at home depot or Lowe's so it makes for a clean and neat install. so to sum it up, buy it! DIY will be up soon!

Update on version 1 pod.
I did not know how to attach the pod to the dash so I took it to my local bodyshop and they used some black silicone stuff. They charged me $30.
I'm still waiting for the gauges to come in. They're the Defi Link meter ones (not BF) in 52mm and black face w/ an adjustable red arrow on the bezel. Getting EGT, water temp, oil pressure.
