Grom Firmware Question

So I was about to order a Grom ipod adapter and I happened to notice that it requires radio firmware v 9.55 or greater. Went out to check my version and naturally it is v9.50. I'm sure this question has already been beat to death (I searched), but is there any way to get the firmware upgraded to v9.55? Or am I just outta luck? The grom adapter is my first choice because its pretty cheap and displays the track title on the oem display.

Check with Mazdaparts.com. They are a vendor here and offer this service.

So in order to get the firmware upgraded you have to mail in your stock headunit and pay $100...wow anyone know if dealers can do the update? This sucks. Thanks for the answer though I had no idea.

You could always try Ebay for a new stereo. Might not be much more than getting the firmware flashed.

To find out what stereo firmware you have turn on the FM radio, press and hold "text" and then also press and hold "1". It will display the result.

Yes it will work (as in fit in and function).

Yes you will still have to check the firmware version on the new unit to make sure it will work with Grom / Audiolink / Factory iPod / Sirius.
