Getting Ready For The Summer Heat

So the summer is starting to gain some momentum here in Southern Ohio, and while it's not brutal here like it is elsewhere, I'll see a lot of triple digits on my temp gauge when I climb in after work and I'm trying to get ready to beat the heat. I have taken a few steps so far, with some success, but I wanted to get some input from others, as I know I can't be the only one who has had to sweat it out in the summer before.

I have the following taken care of...

Steering wheel cover - generic little $4 number from Pep Boys, cheesy faux black velvet, but it keeps my wheel cool enough.

Custom fit Mazda seat covers - just added these so the jury is still out. They fit well and feel nice, but at $140 for the set, I don't know they'll pay off. They seem to stay cooler than leather in the few hot days we'd had so far, and I haven't had the vicious backsweats I usually get, but we'll see how they fare when the red really rises.

Window tint - I have dark tint all the way around. I think it's about 30% or so, but I don't know the exact number because it was from the previous owner.

Finally, I have a windshield screen that folds up, but it's kind of flimsy fabric. I may need to get a newer better fitting more heavy duty one soon. Any recommendations?

Also, I'm considering buying a MonsterKnob shift **** - the OEM **** gets REALLY hot and I want a cheap alternative, and Monster claims their ***** stay cool. Does anyone have experience with them?

I also have one of the anemic AC systems in my car I think, so I am going to wrap the engine bay pipe in heat reflective material. I know there's some debate over its effects, I figure it can't hurt to prevent heat from entering the AC system. I also want to use one of those AC recharge "kits" you see in the parts stores - typically a can and tube, but I don't know how to be perfectly frank. Is it easy?

Any other input people can offer is greatly appreciated - I don't want to be a sweaty beast all summer and I am guessing I am not the only one. Thanks in advance.
