NY keyless entry failure...

My keyless entry system just stopped working. Is there anything to fix this? i tried reprogramming the key and replaced the remote batteries but still nothing. i can enter my car by manually inserting key into the driver door and unlocking. The car will arm and disarm as i lock and unlock the door manually. Also my car does turn on and drive normal.

How this happen, i dont know, i armed my car via remote went to dinner at red lobster with my girlfriend and when i came outside the remote failed to be of use so we were stuck(or so i thought for an hour in the freezing NY cold)

Sounds like a programing problem.. or the key if malfunctioning somehow... take it to the dealership...

i have an 04 warranty expired literally a week before this happened (bought it used)
any idea how much a replacement one would cost? has this happened to anyone else?

i had tried the reprogramming but no good, and i dont think its the key itself because my car start and unlocks via key into door. i have 2 remotes and niether work so im guessing i might be the system itself.
hopefully its not to expensive

Sounds like it might be a time-of the year thing Mine works intermittently (both entry and ignition) since about 2 weeks ago. I haven't replaced the battery yet, so that still needs to be ruled out.
