Gauge install questions

Instructions from prosport:

Black –Ground
Red - 12v ign. power-meaning power when the ignition is on.
White- 12v ign. power
Orange-Headlight switch.
Green - Sender

now my question is whats the difference between red wire and the white wire?? and wheres the easiest place to tap into these wires also where and what wire can i tap into for the headlight switch??

if it helps im using a dual vent pod

you list black, red, white, orange, green.. then ask about a yellow wire. what yellow wire?

I believe the Red wire is it's power input for the display and the orange is the accessory light. Some gauges will dim or have a different color when your accessory/parking lights are turned on.

Check the footwell fuse panel for the proper places. Most of them will be "always on" while there are some fuses that only are on when the parking lights are on. I wish i could be of more help but I dont know exactly what fuses are down there at the moment

Red connects to the ignition and powers up the gauges when the car is started. The orange wire connects to the headlights so that when the headlights are turned on the back lighting for the gauges also comes on. If you were to connect both the orange and red wire to an ignition source the backlights of the gauges would constantly be on and burn out the bulbs quicker.

so if red is power what the hell is the white for??

red is constant power white is ignition power. Red is used to retain memory
