Flip out TV Ver. 1.0
well, finally broke down and bought the alpine iva-d310 and put it in this weekend. the wiring was very straight forward, even with the bose amp. the difficult part was mounting the head unit itself.
below you will see pics of my first attempt. i basically molded a new housing in the factory nav screen location. once i was done molding, i primed and painted the piece black.
im not entirely satisfied with the end result, but as its my first attempt, i cant say its too bad.
dont mind the mess on the dash piece, i havent had a chance to fully clean it up yet.

lurch -- Did you buy a nav center dash panel for a non-Navi? How much was it? I am going to attempt to do something similar soon for my VGA motorized touchscreen. It basically looks exactly the same as the Pioneer, but I won't need access to the buttons under the screen. We will see how it goes.
