I check in to the forum every couple of weeks, looking, but haven't seen this answer.

Has anybody found an easy way to upgrade the version of the Audio and/or Nav software?

On occasion I've seen people or places that will do it ... IF you pull the entire unit out of your car and ship it to someplace, so they can turn around and reship it to someplace else. And in three or four weeks you'll get you unit back, PS no garentees.

It's a PROM for crying out loud, in real life it only take 10 seconds to re-program it. I even have a burner for them if I could just get the code....

 

www.mazdaparts.com is the only one that does the upgrade and as soon as they receive it they ship it out the same day...you determine the speed it ships since u create the labels

the best part is it is fairly priced...by the time you have the parts to flash the HU or Nav...if it isn't built for you...it is going to cost about the price of the upgrade

if you built it yourself for cheap the amount of time you'll spend setting everything up and finding another unit to steal the updated flash from...you've already wasted more time than it is worth

always factor time and money on certain tasks which will not necessarily be enjoyable to do
