Firmware 9.55 and why it isn't 100% needed for Aux port mods.

I searched a lot lately and didnt see the mentioned so I shall share my findings.

I have Firmware 9.50 and installed an Aux Port mod that "requires" 9.55 or higher. However it is working just fine in my car. I hear you scream NO!, not possible! But it is and it works beautifully. Great sound quality and everything.

Here is the deal. It is just an aux port, no ipod interface and when I press the CD button it goes straight to EX2 where this thing is residing. It bypasses the single disc drive entirely rendering it useless. I assume 9.55 is needed to keep CD functionality but as all the CDs I have are now on my mp3 player I couldn't care less.

So there, 9.55 would give me total use of my single disc player but for me it is not an issue. I now have a factory-ish aux port and could not be happier.

While your mileage may vary, I am pleased.

I should add it is made by Audio Basics and plugs into the factory cd changer port.

Eric, that's interesting. Mine specifically said I would not lose the feature so I just assumed it was due to the firmware. Good to know.
