haha thanks. the car drove just fine this morning so im not sure what to think about that...my temp on BOTH oil and water are about the same from 180-195

Jedi54 09-01-2010 12:08 PM

having them be close to each other is normal.

glad to hear the car is running well again.
I would still double check everything to be certain there are no leaks.

Thank you jedi, I just installed my lotek with prosport gauges following this DIY... thank you!!

ilikecars 10-24-2010 05:36 PM

looks amazing, i was just looking at doing this and had the same complaints about RB's gauges.

sticky!

Great writeup and pics on this topic. I will be doing the same setup soon, but I will be mounting the oil sender to the frame of the car and using a -3 line to connect it to the plate. This is because I don't think the sender should just hang off the adaptor plate, it dosn't seem all that strong.

laythor 11-02-2010 11:37 PM

once you have the sender in your hands and feel it's lack of weight, you'll understand why most of us just leave it hanging

I think your right, there isn't much weight to it at all.

.

i hate you :anger: this link didnt work when i clicked it!

RAWR!!!!!!!!

but thank you for the clarification :p

but like i said they have a shittacular site and its not in a correct category

Jedi54 06-27-2011 06:44 PM

you should have seen their site last year...
And technically it is in the correct section (oil system) since the gauge pod was originally designed to accomadate 3 gauges, two of which monitored the oil system. (oil temperature and oil pressure) ;)

are you going with their complete kit? http://www.racingbeat.com/RX8/Oil-System/11816.html
or are you using different gauges?
keep in mind the gauges I went with are discontinued.

Daeity 06-27-2011 06:49 PM

no im going with different guages, defi or glowshifts. dont know if i want the digital or not. But i also need a boost/vacuum gauge and pod for when the greddy goes in.

Im trying for a purple LED interior. with the black its gonna look bad ass hah

laythor 06-27-2011 10:06 PM

big thumbs up for DEFI gauges, i have them in my pod and luv em.

I had the cyberdyne (the suck, dont buy them, they all failed within one month) for the digital look but I find the ability to just glance at the gauge and see where the needle is makes a better set up.

Daeity 06-27-2011 11:55 PM

yeah i like the defi gauges...easy to color the leds and really really nice setup with the control unit.

laythor 06-28-2011 01:40 AM

here's a vid of them in my car

Nice dude. Where are they located and whats the middle one? looks like MPH o.O

Jedi54 06-28-2011 12:38 PM

I believe the middle gauge is oil pressure.

laythor 06-28-2011 12:46 PM

water temp, oil pressure, oil temp

scremn8 10-23-2011 11:38 AM

jedi bumping your thread, but after looking this many times. i just noticed a cell phone in your pic's, was it part of the modding process too...:D::D::D:

Jedi54 10-23-2011 11:50 AM

that cell phone was critical to this install!
how do you think I sat there texting people while Tim did all of the tedious work??? :lol2:

bitesize 07-09-2013 06:05 PM

what do these gauges actually tell you? i can guess what the water is.. level of what left in the car but what about the other 2 oil?

Jedi54 07-09-2013 06:21 PM

the gauges monitor 3 different parameters simultaneously

1. Water Temperature. (this has nothing to do with water LEVEL as we already have a sensor for that.
2. Oil Pressure
3. Oil temperature

RX8mzda 09-03-2015 02:38 PM

I will be doing this DIY in the very near future - anyone have feedback on
Intellitronix LED Digital Gauges ?

scremn8 05-16-2018 08:25 PM

my new setup. I wish they still made your gauges Jedi.

Jedi54 05-17-2018 01:39 PM

those look awesome Michael, congrats.
Yeah, I'm bummed Nordskog is gone as I liked their product quite a bit.

Any guides on how to relocate the lighter socket without burning your house down out there? A guy at a local car meet did it with his S2 RX-8 and relocated it down the side of the centre console, just wondering how others have done it for a little inspiration, would like to get it to look OEM rather than an obvious relocation.
