Yesterday I had to press the "unlock" button three times to get the car to unlock. Then about an hour later I pressed the "lock" button and it did not work no matter how many times I press it. Now none of the buttons work.

So, I thought, dead battery.. I get my backup KeyFOB and swap batteries. Still no good.

Then I try the procedure to link the kebFOB to the car (https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-interior-audio-electronics-24/programming-keyless-entry-42851/) and it does not work. I try the same with the backup KeyFOB and it works with either battery in the keyFOB.

Sounds like a dead keyFOB, anyone have this problem before, is there anything thing else I should try to revive my keyFOB??

 

my fob is sluggish, one day it just quit working every time i pushed the button. i switched fobs, same problem. so i replaced the batteries and it still hasnt improved. its bad enough taht sometimes i just use the key (unheard of!) to unlock the door, it makes me sad to do that....
