Dashboard Console scratches

I live in Toronto Ontario and I've been shopping for an RX-8 for the last 5 months. I've found a lot, but all with high mileage which I believe is not something very good.

So I finally found a 2005 car with 41k on it and I'm happy. -->However, when I went to test drive the car I noticed that the dashboard had some scratches and dents on it (I think the guy used to carry hist hockey sticks and skis in the RX8). Also the rear bumper needs a little bit of a paint job on the left side.

the guy wants 15000 in the car which I think is an ok price

The engine runs smooth and seems to be well taken care of with only 41k

My question is, if I decide to buy the car, can I get the dashboard fixed/replaced? Anyone knows of after market parts?

What wold you guys do?

The question is WHERE on the dashboard are the scratches/dents? There's a center piece to the dashboard that's easy to replace. If its on either of the sides, you'd be looking at a true dashboard replacement being your easiest (not fun) fix.

Is that 15000 US or 15000 CN?

Not that I care b/c I'll never sell mine but the cost of these cars used has been going down quite a bit. You might have better luck buying one south of the border. My advice. Be Picky! Find the one you fall in love with..not the one you 'like', but also remember you can make it your own no matter what.

It's 15k canadian...

The scratch is on the back of the driver seat and the dent is on the dashboard on the bottom of the middle part on the left and right side.. I guess I can buy one and replace right?

You think 15k for a 2005 with 41000km is expensive?

15k canadian sounds fair to me. That's about 12.6k US

If the dent is on this piece:

Only the OEM shell piece, then you're set. If it's outside of that, you could be in trouble as far as repairing.

If the scratch is on the back of the seat, it sounds like you have leather with the hard cased backs and that's entirely up to you. Mine is scratched up, but ehh..doesn't bother me. My gym bag might take offense though

Unfortunately it is not that part.... I'm going to pick up the car on wednesday morning, take some pictures and post them here....

I'm so excited about the car man... it's childhood dream becoming reality!!! And the fact that there's a website(rx8club) for people that like the car makes me even more excited!!! :-)

Cheers
