Dash defrost vent gauge pod

Where are you guys tapping the power to backlight the gauge so it will dim with the rest of the instrument panel? I can't for the life of me remember the wire color and searches give no clue. Pulling the RB gauge pod out to look would, well lets not go there.

OK this is what I found.
I pulled the RB pod, The full 12 volt wire is Red with Yellow Stripe, The wire that connects to the ground resistance side is White with a Red Stripe. These also show correctly on the dash illumination switch. The 2004 wiring diagram shows the ground resistance side to be Grey with a Red stripe. The full 12 volt wire Red with Yellow Stripe remains the same.

BTW mine is a 2007

you could tap into the cigarette lighter. theres 4 coming out of it, yellow 12 v always on, black ground, and two others. the wire for the gauges to make it dim hooks into one of these two.

The 2 wires I'm talking about are the ones used for dash illumination that can be dimmed with the dash switch and both wires must be used. The Red wire Yellow Stripe powers up when the parking lights are turned on and the other is the rheostat to control dimming. I didn't want to run wires from the drivers side dash vent to the ashtray, I plan to tap into the dash illumination switch next to the DSC switch. WHEW
