KY Custom JL Audio 10W7 w/ JL HD Amps Install

I just wanted to show my new custom install in my 8. I hope this help those who are thinking about a custom install and can give them some ideas. The folks down at Bluegrass Audio in Bowling Green Kentucky did the install. Barry is the owner and a really great dude. I've included their FB page below. Any thoughts or comments are appreciated and no I don't care about the weight it adds.

Clean set up man. You kinda lost functionality in you trunk, but realistically, our trunk isn't very functional in the first place. I like it, it just isn't for me, I like being able to put very little into my trunk lol. Grats on the clean set up tho

Looks good. I'm thinking about adding an aftermarket double-din deck as well. Do you loose functionality of the red LED display above the HU? Are you able to set the clock? Also how about the steering wheel controls?

I have functionality of the display along with controlling time. It also shows the amp temp too. I don't recall the name of the unit I used to retain steering wheel controls, but works ok.

How where you able to maintain the functionality of the display? (set clock/track info) Is there a device from the metra kit that controls it?

It's controlled with the center ac switch. You toggle through your options after you hold down the center circular ac button. You sue the defrost buttons to cycle through the options.

What kit or hardware did your installer use to be able to do that?

Unless Metra has added something in the last month for the S2, it isn't the metra kit. I spoke with them about 3 weeks ago and they said that they have a y cable that way you can plug in your factory radio to change the clock and that I would lose the center section of the display as it would be off. unless the OP is using an S1 kit with his S2.
