Custom Faceplate, Replace old Headunit.. got a quote
Today I stopped by a local Audio place called Competition Soundworks, and they said it would cost about $175 for a custom faceplate... I asked does that mean I can just add my headunit as well as another additional unit. They said yup. Cool, time to shop for head units, etc etc..
This does not include the installation charges.. but I'll prolly just get the wiring diagram for the RX-8 and install it myself with the faceplate.
Any other places with custom faceplates?

Welp, that's sounds like it's just the face plate, and not the DIN mount for the replacement head unit. Also factor in relocating the HVAC controls. And what about the steering wheel controls, and certer dash digital display? Hopefully you can get out the door for what they quoted you, but I doubt it unless you already discussed all this with them.

This is the same one in Stanton... I've seen them do custom jobs for their RSX and a Z4, and both look pretty good. Installation for the head unit/DVD/Navigation/Amp/2subs/Alarm etc would be about 500-600 he said. Oh joy... another 5k I'm going to spend interior.
