Quick update dhccqs,
We have set a date of 11-Jun-2016 to get together to test the cruise PCM fix, so will come back to you after that date...here's hoping & fingers crossed

 

Here's the latest update after our 1st trial of what needs to change on the PCM as built data...Well sadly, we didn't get cruise working by the end of the day. But, we did understand a lot more than we did before with trying on 3 cars.
The theory still appears to be sound but the location of the physical BCE module data appears not to be located in the PCM chip, but probably somewhere else on the PCM baord. We just need to find it & that is what our resident 'specialist' (Jamie) & our own Mazda Technician is exploring now.
In the meantime here is a link that will enable y'all to get your own VIN 'as built' data online.
Please note that it can only be run in IE & needs to be set to compatibility mode for this specific URL in order to work.
As soon as we get cruise to work...& we will, you will all be updated.

Any news? Do you maybe need more input from other owners? I have an RX 8 from Estonia, with cruise control buttons, but the feature is disabled. Anything I can do from my end?

 

You should check the wiring from steering wheel to PCM, is it installed or not?

 

Did anyone ever manage to get this working as a retrofit?

 

Yes, I did, and many others in europe have did so.

I've installed the buttons, the new pedal switch and I've activated it via PCM but I've to do all the wiring
