hey guys, just to throw some fuel on the fire, i talked to my rep over at metra the other day, and they are supposed to be releasing a kit for our car later this year, at a street price of somewhere around 250. as i get more details, i will fill everyone in.

Did you keep the stock speakers for now? Do you have the bose sound system and did you buy the adapter for that to keep the stock speakers and amp setup? Or did you replace all of the factory audio with aftermarket products?

Anyone else buy and install? with after market nav, steering controls, temp, display screen all working?
SO let me get this straight? We can now get rid of the HU??? Do we need the BOSE adaptor if we change out the speakers and amp in the future?
So many questions, so many excite! I so Excite!

do you have any more pics?
I'm seriously considering this after my suspension. A 1 DIN head unit with a flip-out screen for my carputer would be pimp. Then I can use the opening for my EDFC.

I just got off the phone with Corksport and a piano black stereo replacement kit is on it's way to my house - should be here tomorrow. I also ordered the steering wheel controls but they won't be in for another week - aparently there was a problem with the English translated instructions (there weren't any).
I also just picked up an Eclipse AVN5495 to stick in said replacement kit.
I'm giddy like a little girl.

Any more info on this? My installer is looking at ways to do this cheaper (and possibly market it if all goes well) and he is a metra dealer as well. Are there any definitive threads out there that tell us what needs to happen to put in an aftermarket radio, or is it scattered all over the place like a lot of other stuff. Is it just a matter of keeping wires connected and relocating them somewhere or? Any help would be greatly appreciated, especially by my car audio sponsors
