What would you change it to? Isnt it illegal to change the amber color? (Not that I have ever cared)

someone here has, i forgot who...they used those stealth bulbs and you can hardly see the bulb because it blends well with the background.

I think the user you're trying to remember is frogzapper and here is the link. I also followed suite and used the chromed/stealth bulbs and they look amber to me. I purchased them from ebay at cycolite's store, the link takes you to his ebay store.

Mikeb,

I'm not sure which exact bulb you need, but the link is to a ebay store which carries chrome bulbs of many different types. You just have to find the type you need first, then look for a chrome version on the store. He's local to us too (Diamond Bar), so you can get it pretty quickly. Good Luck.

Mike,

I'm trying to send you a PM, but your mailbox is full, anyhow:

No, the guy doesn't have a storefront, he just operates out of Diamond Bar. But you can try emailing him with the type of bulb and asking him if he can get it in chrome for you as he carrys a wide variety. He was pretty responsive when I was dealing with him so it seems like it's worth a shot.

Wow, let me get all this straight.

PIAA Super White LED for parking - 194

PIAA Super Blue LED for doors, glove box, and License 194

Fog lamp alterations are causing blown fuses but bulb is H11.

What bulbs are good for map lights and dome light? Some mentioned red dome and another said incandecent for bulbs so they will still fade.

Has anyone ever removed the shield in front of the fog lamp?

personally i don't like LED's as they shoot straight out and don't spread like xenon's do...i went with LED's at first but the dispersion was too linear...i'd stick with normal xenon bulbs...the ones i got were Polarg's which are very white, no yellow and no blue...

you don't need to remove the shield in front of the fog lamps...you need to get under the car and remove 3 plastic "screws' that hold the underlining to the bumper...then reach up and change the foglamps that way

Did I hear someone mention that the 5800K H11's only last 3-6 months? Or is that for the 80W bulbs?

Also, it seems to me that if the 80W bulbs are blowing fuses, you're better off with a lower wattage. Is there something in between the 55W factory bulbs and the 80W bulbs for the fogs? Like maybe 65-75W?

Thanks...

I need help here! I ordered bulbs from the local speed shop and got them in but the orfer is wacko.

I read through the forum pages and came up with a conclusion that super blue LED PIAA bulbs were great as were super white LED PIAA. WHn I ordered I got 1 pair of blue "color" bulbs and some white ones. I think what is causing my confusion is that every vendor uses different descriptions and on the forum many are not giving the brand of bulb.

What is hyper white? who makes it?

What is super white? who makes?

What is super blue? --THe speed shop here says it means blue colored bulbs.

hyper white or super white will look very similar
super blue will get you a ticket quickly
many companies make super or hyper white
polarg, piaa, apc, xenon
just pick one

Hey, if the 7440's work, let me know.

I thought they only replaced the W21W's, and NOT teh WY21W's that are used for the blinkers. Maybe the Y just means "yellow"?

the 7440's work... you just have to modify the end to go all the way through the slot. I had to shave of some part of the plastic branch

I'd be careful using 100w bulbs. Stock low bean (non-HID) is 55W H7 bulb. So really, and H7 bulb will "fit".

I'd hate to see you the first victim of melted headlight housings.... but then again, I don't know if anyone has had reports of problems..... or sucess yet!

My dealer just called and tried to tell me that if I wanted to switch the fog lights that iyt would require that I buy an additional foglight assembly. All I want is some H11 55W bulbs to replace the current foglight.

Does anyone know if Mazda has H11 lights in some of their other cars?
