The following pic shows how you can see the title of MD or MP3 on the center display.
The title can be scrolled manually to rotate a *** on the center console.
Add: This pics shows my MD player. But the Mazda says on the web site that the MP3 player can display album name, track name etc. I think the looks on the display is almost the same.

there was no question for me once i found out the MP3 would be available. i've had an MP3 cabable head unit since last summer and i don't know what i'd do if i couldn't have it in the 8!

Of course, truck number of the CD can be displayed.
The volume and the track number can be changed by the buttons on the steering.
