You could try calling some audio installation shops in the nearby area, out here in Victoria we barely have any shops, I am looking at beginning a CarPC project on my 8, and based on the lack of experience from installers in the Victoria area, without travelling up island or onto the mainland, I think I am going to tackle it on my own.

Yes, he is up in Courtenay, (up island), it is not that bad of a drive, a little over 3 hours.

I really want forbidden to do my setup, if he lived in Victoria there would be no question, just the lack of money right now, I think it might even be a better idea to save up, wait, and have him do it.

The guys at Elevated Customs did a really sweet job of my 3's audio installation....they also custom made a double-din dash kit for me as there was no option available for my 3. They said it would take them an an hour and a half to make it, 6 hours later they finished and only charged me for 1.5 hours.

I am indeed in this area, very close and have experience with RX8's from top to bottom. Not many shops around actually have done major systems and head replacements in these cars before. If the shop is not aware of the mess they are getting themselves into, do not pass go and do not start the project.

i think i'm just going to install the aftermarket navigation/dvd now since most of the audio shops r willing to do only that for me... which is already a headache for them

Forbidden, what's a ballpark price for an installation of a double-DIN unit into an RX8? I'm in Vancouver and would probably want a professional install because I have a tendency to destroy plastics with a vengeance whenever I try to work on something.

Assume I would provide the double-DIN unit myself and that the car has the Bose system but is otherwise essentially stock.
