CarPc vs Tablet

I'm having trouble deciding between Pc or Tablet...

I've already got the Navi hood, and it's wired up and working, just need something to put in it now.

I think I have read every single thread on the topic, but I can't seem to pull the trigger on either...

The CarPc, seems it would leave me open to expanding/upgrading with ease. But cost more and will need to run more wires..

The Tablet, seems very simple, just throw it in and hook up audio. But can't upgrade without buying a new tablet...

My goals are; GPS, Media, Dash gauge display functions. The tablet seems like the right choice, right? Or the CarPC..?

if i may: i think everyone goes into building some carpc with the thought that 'i can upgrade if needed'. In reality, there really isn't much room or need for upgrading, so dont place that as a benefit, because it isn't one at all. More often than not you are going to build the carpc and leave that configuration for the lifetime of the car unless you have some obsessive need to constantly replace parts.

Good point.

Seems like a tablet fits my needs while saving a little cash...

For that, the tablet is indeed the better choice. Once those work fine, you won't need to upgrade.

I think I'm going to go with a Galaxy Tab 2 from Samsung. Use my phone for a hotspot.

Seems like a decent setup. Unfortunately, this will probably make my GOODBox obsolete....
