Hi guys,

I got my 8 about a month ago now. I got the bose system in the car. I was told that were were 9 speakers in that audio system, but where are they at? I only count 6. 2 tweeters/door speakers on each door, and the 2 rear speakers behind the back seats.. where are the other 3 speakers at? Thanks for the help. I'm probably just blind though...

 

There's one speaker in the center of your dash. Other than that, I don't think there are any more speakers.

 

there is a Japanese pic that shows the speaker setup in the rx-8. wish I had a link

 

here's one, but it's not the one i was thinking about, as this one isn't too clear.

 

I just double checked the Mazda USA website. It says the Bose system is 300w with 9 speakers.. So far I've found the amp, which is in the trunk under the back window. I never knew that center mesh grill on the dash was a speaker, i've never heard anything come out of it... If someone has a link or something to show where each speaker is located, that would be awesome. Thanks for the help guys/gals.

 

Ah, thank you very much. I guess the ones in the left right doors themselves are 'double speakers'.. that would make 9.. 2 in each door, 2 tweeters, the midi on the dash, and the 2 woofers in the rear.. thanks for clearing that up for me.

 

The rears have seperate tweeters...we used to call that a 'two-way'......

Oh... so it's the rear speakers that actually have '2' speakers in each? Not the front door speakers? Thank you StealthTL. Much appreciated information.

 

2....9" woofers...one in each door
1....3" speaker in dash
2....2" hi/mid one per door
2....2" hi/mid in rear deck
2....6x9 woofers in rear deck

total nine

 

philodox - 2-ways dont count as 2 speakers. its jsut 2 drivers in one unit, still a single speaker.

whoa.. the doors are 9" ??? wonder if 10s can be fitted lol

 

Anyone know if all the cars wired for 9 speakers or is this just the Touring+up models? It wouls be nice to add another, albeit needing some sort of elec. crossover.

 

Non bose car will not be wired for the additional speakers, well I doubt it anyhow - they dont even give you yanks the puddle light wires...
