Bose Amp

I wanna add my two JL audio 12's with a rockford amp, and my question is this. Can i pull the power from the power cable going into the BOSE AMP instead of running it from the front battery; what problems do you forsee if any? I hate to go through the trouble of running 4 gauge wire through the car and getting it through the firewall, what a hassle.

I would use a dedicated ground wire from the frame and pull the remote from the amp as well.

what fo you think.

It looks to me like the power wire for the Bose amp is #12, maybe #10. That is not gonna carry the load for any aftermarket amps.

what if i only use a 10 or 12 gauge wire, it might be underpowered but im not to worried about that; do you think it would work without problems?

I would not risk blowing your Bose AMP due to power swings. Its risky i would make the effort to run it through its actually not a very big job if you consider the amount of DIY on the forum.

Depending what amp you use might even consider running a bigger battery too.

Regards
Phillip

Using the #12 Bose power wire won't underpower your new amp, your amp will pull what it needs, you'll just end up melting the insulation off of the power wire. Don't do it man.!
