Yea it's the Eclipse sw9122 ti 12inch.I did not install it myself. This car is kinda hard to work with especially with the ugly stock deck which is almost inpossible to replace. My car is in a shop right now.Having everything custom installed(trunk & interior). My car just got gutted & stripped down.In about another then they will work on the wiring up the whole system.Right now they are welding frames for my amps, welding frams will make it really hard to steal! Also installing Clifford Advantguard 5 so that will make it also alot harder to steal my car.Sorry my system is not up so you can't listen to it right now.It will be a Sound Quality competition car when it's done.

Tru, what shop are you getting all of this done at? I am looking to get something done to my 8 later on, but like you said, it's a pain in the but to work on this car stereo wise. I'm in the mist of selling my old car audio equipment out of my blazer (JL Audio 12W7 and 750W to run it, Pioneer Premier DEH-P860MP, 1000W amp, Kicker Resolution RS6 Components and an amp to run them) www.sounddomain.com/id/hardhitter2k3 check out my page, I install and build everything myself, but I just got this 8 and I am very "catious" about working on this car because it's so nice, so I think I'm going to let a very notorious shop install anything I want.

I also want my car to be SQ (my SPL days are over) so I'll probably just get some really good components/amp installed for my front stage and then add maybe a 8W7 or two.

Let me know on what shop you're using and good luck on your car!

I really do suggest on getting it done at a shop because in case you accidently messup the wiring & screw up your electrical system.I know you got some skills but this is a complicated car to work on that's why I didn't have my friend to work on my car.Well I'm having it done at SoundAndAlarm at Daily City. They have two shops, one in Daily City & one in San Francisco.Their website is www.soundandalarm.com it's a generic website but it gives you their contact info.If your interested on a custom install, let me know & I can hook you up.The shop is a semi-sponsor for my car so If I refernce you, they will give you a better deal. They also have a lifetime warrenty on their installs which a plus. My e-mail is Tru681@aol.com if you're ever interested. Here's my system layout:
2004 Mazda Rx-8 with custom Midnight BLue Pearl paint job
Eclipse Avn2454 deck with rear camera
PG tld66 line driver(6 chanel 8volt rms)
PG ti 1000.2 amp & PG ti 600.2 amp (x2)
PG elite 6.5 components & PG elite 5.25 components
2-PG ti Eq30
2-12in Eclipse sw9122 ti subs
PG ti 15farad capacitor
PG ti rmd(remote voltage monitor)
4-dynamat extreme bulks
4-7in clarion lcd monitors
Limited Edition silver fiberglass PS2
Stinger 0 gauge pro amp kit
JL premium blue interconnects

Starman --

Thanks loads for the idea and the pics. I took the write up and the pics to my local Circuit City. I know - dangerous, but they have a sharp kid there that seems to know his stuff. He took his time, worked it through, and it looks just like your set up. Sounds great - fills in all the hollow base spots in the Bose. Before I had to turn the HU bass gain to +6 and crank the volume up to about 24 before there was much bass response from the door 'woofers'. They thumped OK but were very flat across the bass freqs. With the Basslink I can turn the HU bass to 0 and turn the treble up to +3, which really helps the little 2 inchers in the sail. We bailed on the remote gain installation that you showed and put it under dash above the right leg. Works OK there.

Sounds great and was a very reasonable spend.

I am taking a very long drive in a couple of weeks (like days long) and could not stand the thought of all that road time with crappy bass. Thanks folks for helping me out with this.

3 years later.....

Still love the set up. Sounds as good as Day 1. Would recommend this to anyone.

Now trying to figure out how to stuff one in the back of a Porsche 968 Cab.
