Looks good Pat, that is almost where I mounted the controller for mine. I instead put mine in the blank plate under the radio ****. I'm thinking of moving it to directly below the gauges in the Lotek gauge pod. Did you get the optional speaker and bi-color LED? The LED mounted in the Speedo cluster is a great attention getter as is the speaker with voice warning. Great Choice in detector!

not sure about the bi-color LED....i will have to ask lurch about that one..

You just like sayin SHINKA...oh wait...ha

Nice install...altho a laser/radar jammer would have been my preferance but I guess I need to finish that up some day...

Would probably be easier to trangulate the location of the patrol cars based on thier trunked radio units tho...

Bah...one day...one day...

Negative...doesnt jam, just detects...I researched the whole family line before ending up with the 65 myself...

Technically it would be illegal to interfere according to the FCC so no one *could* sell you one. And dont believe in those Rocky Moutain people either...

Phase modulation does not work nearly as well as reduction of signal with noise...and even then depending on proximity eventually it will lock...

That's exactly where I put mine. It took a little modification, but it's pretty cool. I'll post a pic this weekend when I get home.

Wait did you install the laser blocking module? Cause I was talking about the radar not the "laser" which is actually infrared...that module apparently works decently...

Pat, I found a pic in a long ago post. https://www.rx8club.com/attachment.p...8&d=1151110799

eviltwinkie: This system comes with a front radar sensor, two front laser detectors/shifters and a rear laser detector/shifter.

Right but unless you have the "plus" system it lacks the laser "blocking" module...hence the question...

EDIT: DUH! Freaking thread topic is about the "plus"...haa haa

Yes, I have the bose. I didn't have to modify the circuit board at all. I used a hobby saw and trimmed off the sides of the casing and it fit perfectly. If the circuit board was 2MM larger, it wouldn't have fit.

Pat, I like yours as well. This radar detector works really well. You will still get a few false alarms around drug and grocery stores, but it blocks most of them out. You may want to just go ahead and disable the "X" band because I don't believe any cops use it anymore. That will eliminate about 90% of the false alarms. Definately find out if you have the dash mount LED. A lot of times if I'm driving with the radio turned up, I don't hear the radar detector, but I see the flashing red light in the cluster. If you don't have it, contact Beltronics and ask them to send you one. You should feel much more confindent using that S/C power with this installed.

Off topic: Are you still using the stock clutch? How is it holding up to the S/C? I'm thinking of having a new one put in when I have the S/C put in.
