aux, PIE, help!

whatup guys, i got an fm trnasmitter for my ipod, and the sound just isint there for me. Whats the easiest way of directly connecting my ipod to the cars stereo. Cost is really not an issue. Just want to get good sound, fast. It dsnt matter if i have to buy other type of adapter for the ipod. Ive heard about this PIE thing, but am still not sure what it is. Can anyone kinda quickly tell me what to buy and what to install, thanks alot.

you need this:

and this:

If your firmware is lower than 9.55 you will need to upgrade

what is your build date? also check firmware by pressing Text and Preset 1 at the same time for a few seconds

So TrueMagellen:

Can I use the same setup for my Delphi "MyFi" XM portable radio? I was also looking at the DIY thread you did on the NAV system ( I have NA). I've got the Canzoomer Stage I and I'd love to know for the future if the NAV could be used for AF mixture Mapping for a turbo.

What do you think?

Along the same lines, does anyone know if the PIE MAZ/ALP interface will work with the Alpine Ipod interface?

no

the alpine ipod interface is in fact an entirely seperate MP3 playing interface that plays songs using the ipod as an external hard drive

I don't see why that would necessarily prevent the Alpine adapter from working with the PIE adapter. It looks like it would hook up physically -- the basic issue is whether or not the PIE adapter would allow the HU to control the Alpine adapter.

the alpine IPOD interface is simply a box that translates the ipod info to the Alpine HU...really it is an overpriced POS

you NEED an Alpine HU to use their interface

the Denison Icelink on the otherhand works with the stock HU and the PIE adaptor but there is limited functionality
