AutoExe Parking Brake Lever with pics

Just arrived today and took about 10 seconds to install.
Big thank you to japanparts for the fast shipping.

The instructions are in japanese but so simple you don't need them. It looks like the suggest you cut your old plastic cover to get it off, mine just came off with some strong tugging. The autoexe one just slides over the handle and you're done.
It's not inexpensive, but I really didnt like the stock PB cover.

any chance on getting a less macro picture.. something from like a foot or two away, just to get a sence of how the new lever complements the cabin.

It looks very good, a thousand times better than the ugly stock that reminds of those toy shades that kids use to dig the beach at summer

one man's unique is another man's cheesy.

I didn't say it was for everyone, just people who wanted something other then stock or leather wrapped stock.

I will admit that for the price I assumed it was a bolt on replacement, not a replacement cover. It has done what I wanted so I am happy with it.

Looks great and matches the interior well, but i need to spend that kind of money elseware on my car. The stock one is rather ugly/plasticy by comparison, though.

While I agree that this is FAR too much money to spend on something like this.... my opinion is that the stock handle is a little mundane. The AutoExe handle is a little nicer, but not worth more than about $20-$40.

I like the autoexe handbrake. Only problem I have with it is that it doesn't go all the way down. So it kinda always looks like it is up. I would have to modify the whole handle so that when it is down it sits flush with the console. I will keep my stock one for now, but I do plan on changing it, I'm sick of my friends pulling on it to see if a sword comes out.

That was my first thought, that it would always look like the handbrake was engaged...

I started down the blue light path and just went crazy with it. All the lights that can be changed are now blue. I'm looking into having someone change all the blubs in the radio and speedo to blue. I have two rotary rasp blue led kits (one in the footwell, one in the trunk).. heck, even the vanity mirror lights are now blue. Most of my mods are listed in my garage link.

I agree that having the brake handle sit flush with the console would look a bit better. The only thing I've seen even close to it is the gigantic aluminum one that's made.

I personally prefer the stock one. That was actually one of the first things that I thought was cool the first time I sat in an RX-8.

I figured it out like you said tugging on it as well as a little twist this way and that and it will come loose.

It does help to have the shift console piece off because of the tabs that tuck under the console around the parking brake.
