Audiovox Express EZ XM Install

I'm not a fan of sirius so I passed on the option from the dealer. I've only had my 8 for 3 months so I wasn't sure what was on the market. I tripped over the new Express EZ and I thought it's fit and finish would compliment the console. I wanted to be able to hide it an keep it as clean as possible. I hate exposed wires, dash mounts, windshield mounts and most of all I wanted to be able to conceal it. Well here it is... let me know what you think.

then I removed the console tunnel and ran the xm antenna to the trunk... and mounted the antenna on the trunk...

then I used a rotary tool to work my ashtray... (this part took the longest because I wanted the fitment to be perfect)

Thanks, I am wanting to install my XM Inno into my RX-8. My question to you is how did you get XM to run through the factory stereo ? Thanks for all the help you can provide!

I used the fm direct modulator... which comes with a hardwire kit for the unit... I was able to utilize the space behind the ashtray to zip tie the hardwire kit... I zip tied the fm direct modulator behind the headunit...

well if you open your ashtray you will notice there is a divider between the actual tray and the lighter... I cut that out so I can have the whole space.... I removed the ashtray itself completely and demel'd out a mounting place for the unit.... Then I used some cardboard from a shoe box and some back felt sticky paper to create a new back drop to cover all the hacking....

I should have taken more pics but I was just tryin' to get'er done...

thanks for the previous replies...

i was wondering if you could tell me how you actually used the "xm receiver dock" (the one that came with the unit). it's difficult to see in the pic you took.

i also have this exact xm receiver and would like to do the same type of install...stealth is the way to go these days!
