I have a 2004 model that has the original player replaced with a Kenwood but the audio control on the steering wheel doesn't seem to work. Any idea?

Yeah, if you just plug in an aftermarket head unit the steering wheel controls don't automatically work... You have to specifically wire it for them to work together.

 

Look up either the PAC device or the Metra Axxess. Both will work with our cars but the PAC has some lag compared to the Metra. Do a search for the Metra Axxess and check out my thread. I have installed it and it works flawlessly. Install is straightforward.
