Anyone used a sub like this?

I've been doing some thinking about modding my audio system but don't want to add much weight to the back with a heavy sub. Have any of you installed a sub like this Kenwood?

I want musical bass that is tight and does require a Dynamat lined trunk because of excessive bottom end. Music: Jazz, rock, female vocals, blues

Thoughts on this sub option? Other options?

Thoughts:
the kind of music you're listening to wont take much advantage of sub bass. You might be happier replacing rear deck speakers and tweeters up front for a more defined sound. The Bose system has tremendous range but does so at the expense of definition. That's why intricate finger work on a guitar turns to puke when played on the Bose system.

You can replace the rear deck speakers, front center, and front tweeters all without needing to get rid of the bose amp (front door speakers are a different 0.5 ohm story) If you still are hankering for some oomph after upgrading your cabin speakers, then you can get a sub to round out the system. I've never used space saver subs, but chances are it will have enough kick for you. You wont need to dynamat the car though with a sub like that. You might want to though, just to help keep road noise and rattles under control.

Thanks for the feedback. I should have said in my post that I do plan on switching out all of the speakers as well. Will also upgrade amps all around. Not sure whether I will replace the deck yet. Looking at maybe doing that with one of the new double DIN Pioneer units.

Trying to avoid dynamat and a heavy sub because I want to keep the car as light weight as possible. There's custom installer I will talk to about all of this but wanted to gather some insights first. I have a high end home system but know very little about the car audio market.

I had this sub for a year.
With the same idea that I won't want to lose much space or add weight in the trunk.
Also I usually don't listen to loud music.

Kenwood is ok too fill up the missing bass from stock system.

Only one thing that I don't like is micro sub can't go very deep.

I just swap it with one 10" in 4080 this afternoon today.
It is definitely louder and go deeper than Kenwood.
But take a lot more space and also cost a lot more.

I would suggest that if you want to go light and small, go with Blaupunkt THb 200A.
My friend has it in his tiny car. It sounds better.
With Kenwood, the small square shape give very distort sound if you go very low frequency.

Note that non of this micro sub will fit under our seat.

Here is where I use to have it and how I hung it.
It didn't take any space at all since it is in between rear 6x9 speakers.
Also no drilling required.

Powered Bazooka tube. My father has been using a 100W 8" tube for probably 2 years now. Plenty of low end even for me. You wouldn't think so from the only 100W 8". But I'm tellin ya, It bumps well.

In fact, I'm impressed so much by it, when I trade in the 8, I'll probably just get a 100W 8" tube for myself rather than the two 10"s and separate amp I have now. Smaller. Lighter. Effective.

Man I'm getting old.
