plexiglass cover for amp

Well after a while of looking at a lot of different setups for my system, I finally decided to get a jl 500/1 amp, 4080 box, jl 10w6v2 sub, rockford fosgate cap all from sllygrl. Well Im taking it on tuesday to get it installed and debating how to setup the trunk. I got the rx-8 allweather cargo tray and the liner to go in the trunk. It is ok but I think the trunk flows better without it. So I think I'm gonna leave that out and just put the amp and cap in the indent where a spare tire would go in another car. I need to get something to cover it up though, the place Im taking it to can make me a plexiglass cover and everything for 80-100. I remember seeing someone on here have a cover like that on theirs and I believe they have a rotor decal on it. Anyone know what I'm talking about and where I can find pics so I can see if I like it or not? Any suggestions?

I have a similar config with the all weather tray in the back. I config'd my own black piece of fiberglass to cover the amps for like $30, however, I don't think $80 is out of line to have one done for you. One suggestion is fans, I'm going to install 2; 1 blowing in & 1 out. My amp, even when not on, gets extremely hot on any trip longer than 15 mins. I even put down dynamat extreme and extremeliner to help and it freakin still burns... just my opinion... good luck & nice setup!

That recess gets extremely hot and placing another heat adder like an amp just amplifies (pardon the pun) the problem. It is not a great placement if your looking to get extended performance from your amp. Fans are an 'absolute necessity' whenever your covering your amp with plexiglass but even that might not help since the trunk on the RX8 gets hot in general. Unless you could run a hose to bring cooler air from the passenger cabin, the fans are just going to blow around hot air.
