Anyone just replaced OEM speakers? How is it?

I was planning a more powerful sound system but I'm beginning to cope with the fact that I rarely ever listen to the music loudly as I'm always with my wife in the car and we like to talk instead of listening to music. I used to be a big bass head....

So I'd like to know if anyone has just replaced the stock door speakers and rear 6x9s while maintaining the rest of the Bose system. How does it sound? What products did you use?

I'd appreciate the help!

Im running:
1)AUDIOBAHN AS69V 6X9" 3WAY SPEAKER 200W RMS
2)2" Niobium Micro Dome 250W TWEETERS (PAIR)
3)POWER ACOUSTIK OV4-1600 (OV41600) 4-Channel 1600W GOTHIC Series AMPLIFIER
4) Two Audiobahn AW120T 12" 500W EXCURSION WOOFERS
5)AUDIOBAHN ABC6003V 6.5" & 4" 320W 3-Way Component SPEAKERS
6)TWO AUDIOBAHN A4002V 2-Channel 400W Intake Amplifier
7)Power Acoustik PC4.0F 4 Farad Digital Capacitor

I`m happy with the sound quality but if you ask me to do it allover again i will say NO!!
I found it very difficult to pass new wires through the doors and also to make new base to fit the 6.5" on the doors
But if you have free time do it!!Start with a GOOD reading on the Sticky!!

I only did speaker swap to Alpine Type-R 5x7 components front and 6x9 rear. They definitely sound better than before. But then again I didn't have bose before.

I have Boston XT 6 1/2s if the front Boston 6x9s in the back deck with a Boston G5 12" sub powered by a Memphis 4x4 and a 500, both amps are class D. I love the setup. Sound quality is better than stock, especially at volume. The only thing that would make it sound any better would be another head unit that I could tune it better with.

Just depends on what you're going for.

Oh and also.. As far as volume goes.. I thought it would be lower than stock at same setting, but I actually can't tell!
