I've got an '05 and bought the OEM Satellite Radio and MP3 player.

Both work ok, but the text doesn't scroll automatically and it still drives me crazy (you have to turn a **** to see titles longer than the display).

I was wondering if anyone has a newer model in which they decided to work this 'feature' in. I'm hoping there might be a firmware update that might take care of this (wishful thinking)

*Related but irrelevant story for this coming up again:

I rode with a buddy of mine this weekend in his '94 saturn with a $100 aftermarket satellite radio receiver (sirius). It's got 4 big lines of display, you see the station, artist, song name, all at once. It doesn't usually need to scroll the text, but guess what...it will if it needs to.

I've complained to mazda about this several times, and they essentially told me that was 'expected operation'. Not very much bang for the buck considering that I've got about $900 tied up in this junk (mp3 & sat + dealer install labor).

 

I have an '07 GT with Sat. radio, and my text is also manual scroll.
I never really use the feature unless I really want to know what the name of a song by a particular artist, so it has not ever bothered me.
