Question Another HID Foglight question

Ive seen the DIY thread about fog light HID conversion. I was browsing eBay the other day and I saw this Foglight conversion and wanted to know if anyone had experience with this. It says that no other modifications required, just need to mount the ballasts and it should work.

just buy any h11 hid kit doesnt matter they are all the same other then quality obv... cheapy ones can blow a ballast easily and just find a place to mount the ballast. i took my bumper off one day and mounted high up where the oil coolers are since the ones i ordered had a nice bracket that mounted perfectly on there and have fun blinding people also while your at it take off that reflector thing on the inside i took mine off and saw a huge increase in brightness and more spread out light

But the whole point of fog lights is to project very low, below the fog layer (typically cut off below the 12-18 inch level), so as not to reflect off it. "Spreading out" is counter productive. Concur however that the color of fog lights is pretty much irrelevant (e.g. yellow is not better than white).

Unless of course you're just going for the blind everyone else, and yourself, aesthetic thing.

The European Rx8 does not have the cap, and its not blinding everyone else with the cap removed...

Well you can keep it on all the time to annoy people definitely ;p
