Hoping someone here knows what I'm talking about..

I have a 2005 231.. My query is very simple.. Do I have the upgraded Bose sound system?

You see my door tweeters say Bose on them, but i have no Bose sign on the lower speaker cover on the door..

I have seen many RX8's with this on their.. So this has left me a lil confused.

I don't know what 231 means, but I don't think my lower doors say Bose on them either. Easy way to tell.... Open the trunk, look up where the two rear speakers are, look for the silver colored Bose amp on the passenger side. You don't have to remove any paneling or anything. It's right next to the rear passenger speaker.

To extend on this, my headunit did not say Bose or 6-disc changer either. Also, if you have the GT package with spoiler, larger wheels etc, you probably have Bose. I think all GTs have Bose. Just a guess.

 

231 is just a model code.

If you have BOSE won't the head unit have "audio pilot" ? My non bose stereo has "ALC" or auto level control not audio pilot.

It's on the audio menu. The controls for treble, bass, fader, balance.

Also my headunit does have the AudioPilot whatever that is.. and 231 is the bhp of the RX8's over here, we also have a 192 bhp version which is kinda lame.. What BHP is the RX8's over where you are?

 

231 is what mazda claimed was the BHP of the 8, 210 and below are what they actually are.

 

We are all the same HP, the 192 was discontinued a while back.

 

210 and below??? I feel so cheated!!!
